About Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant
A fast-casual takeout or dine-in Caribbean & Jamaican restaurant, conveniently situated on the corner of Ralph Avenue and Flatlands Avenue in Brooklyn. Known for their family recipes of classic Caribbean food staples, from Jamaican beef patties and coco bread, to jerk chicken, oxtail, and curried goat or chicken. Offerings now include vegetarian and beyond meat alternatives. The bakery boasts numerous enticing options including spice bun, hard dough bread, and carrot cake (among many more delectable items).
The lines were way too long in this restaurant. They need to get a handle on the lunchtime flow. I shouldn’t have to wait 15 to 30 mins to buy some patties. I came here after leaving a different GK location due to weird service and a lack of accepting CCs. Anyway, the lines were long, it moved but they have to move faster. I bought some patties. All of them were hot and delicious. The chef came out with a fresh batch so I got lucky in that regard. I bought a pepper shrimp patty, jerk chicken patty and a reg chicken patty. They also accept credit and debit card. I would stop by this location again. Service was good and the lady who took my order and served me was nice and polite. Overall, 4 out 5. I would rate them higher if the lines would move faster. I’ll consider it after coming back in the future.
I ordered through an order app golden crust Tuesday Feb10, it had the best beef soup and jerk wings. I decided to go back this past Tuesday on the 17th of February and same meal was the worst I ever tasted. They put some kind of seasoning in the soup and on the chicken that spoiled both dishes or they had another cook, but that cook hands had a very bad day. I need consistency when I buy from places or they are going to have to give taste tests, because Jamaican food isn’t cheap and bad Jamaican food is a crime, especially to my wallet.
